Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 10/07/2018

Number: 12

The migration seems to be tapering off. Many fewer birds coming through. There are no more than a dozen birds in the turk's cap and feeders at any one time with about a dozen more resting at the same time in the bald cypress and Buford pear. The birds that are arriving seem thin and spend an inordinate amount of time drinking at the feeders. Daily consumption of nectar in the feeders has diminished to less than 30 ounces per day. We're keeping the same number of feeders out but are putting less nectar in them.
