Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/04/2018

Number: 20

9 straight days of 7-10 monarchs nectaring all day long on the buddliea in my front yard.
They appear to be roosting only 5 feet away in the neighbors magnolia.
Originally I believed they might nectar for an hour or two and continue on, but now I think they may nectar all day. Other butterflies, sulphurs, cabbage, painted ladies appear to be there ALL day as well and then are gone the next day.
This amount of monarchs has NEVER occurred before and I have lived in this house for 25 years. It could just be that the buddliea is exceptional and just draws them in... who knows...
