Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/07/2018

Number: 1

Monarch Waystation #271 reports a newly molted 5th instar monarch larva found resting under a butterflyweed leaf this morning while deadheading some flowers in the front yard. Photo taken just after 11 am. Did no diligent searching in the yard for more, will wait until it is bigger to decide if I will bring it in to rear, since it will be very dicey as a late October migrant. It should find enough milkweed to eat where it is for now.
