At The Tip at Point Pelee National Park
Note- Visited the Park mid afternoon & saw only 1 Monarch nectaring on Asters off of West Path. Received info that about 25 Monarchs were seen flitting south to Tip & journeying out over Lake Erie in the light to moderate NE wind.
Evening - 27°c; warm & sun shiny clear blue sky with SSE wind at 14-18 kmh. 4 Monarchs were seen, all a half hour before sunset. One male for about 25 minutes intensely nectared on Asters & the others arrived from the north along west shoreline, flitted about shoreline Poplar Trees & then into interior trees out of view.
Perfect day for Monarchs to be journeying south!
