Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 10/09/2018

Number: 2

I saw only two female or juvenile ruby-throated hummingbirds this afternoon when I returned home late from school. They fed early at 7:15 AM and again fed steadily between the nectar feeders and the yellow-blooming Golden Raintrees from 4:30 PM until dusk at 7:00 PM. There are so many bees hovering over the tree blooms too, and maybe that also attracted the hummers. Even when they’re not at the feeders, it’s pretty special to hear them chattering in the trees and to know there’s still a few here.
