Oct. 9th 2018- Evening
At The Tip at Point Pelee National Park
Another perfect day for Monarchs to journey south over Lake Erie.
26°c & clear with light SE wind @14 kmh.
Ten Monarchs seen coming from the north the last half hour before sunset. All arrived along the west shoreline over West Path.
A few stopped to bask in the trees along West Path; Hackberry, Dogwood, Sumac & Grapevine. The others flitted to interior trees out of view.

Interesting to observe a male with proboscis extended 'sipping' from Hackberry leaves. This same behaviour was observed last October; seems to occur with later migrants.
