Monarch Fall Roost
Sightings report image

Date: 09/27/2006

Number: 5000

May 26 in the year 2006 at the SE corner of the peninsula of Prout's Neck Maine, at sunset I noticed several conifer trees full of monarch butterflies (I recall 3 days of bad winds had piled them up where they were waiting to make the sea crossing to the mainland.) So I filmed them waking up at dawn the next cold morning, September 27, 2006. In 2012 when I created a youtube account, I finally posted that video.
