Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/10/2018

Number: 1

A solitary butterfly early morning on the only clear day this week, was startled into taking off from a resting spot under a milkweed plant leaf as the bundle of weeds I had just pulled up and was tossing shook the plant it was resting on. It's bright color and quick flight startled me. I watched as it gained altitude and flew south.
