I haven’t seen the dominant female since 9/30. The 2 seen at the feeder and nectaring on zinnias and goldenrod on last week might have been my goodbyes to the residents for the year. Although the levels in the feeders are still dropping I have taken down all but 1 and haven’t had much time to keep watch this week. I already miss them. But I’ve planted more flowers to greet those that make it back next Spring. If bossy chatty Lil’ Little isn’t here to rule my garden I’ll have a hole in my heart.
