Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/13/2018

Number: 3

October 13th 2018 Evening
At The Tip at Point Pelee National Park
After 2 evenings of not seeing even 1 Monarch I was so happy to see 3!!
Take note of the temp >>> 10°c/50f with a Real feel of >>>8°c/47f
& strong WSW wind at 26-41 kmh.

The first came in from the north at 6:35 pm, 15 mins before sunset. It was 100' up, fighting the wind & flitting above the east shoreline. It then turned to the west & flitted to the Tip treetops.
The 2nd was again coming in high from the north just above the treetops. Flitted around a bit before disappearing in the interior trees. And the 3rd at 6:45 pm appeared from the treetops, flitted east about 75' above East Beach & continued east out over the Lake. It made a U-turn over the water heading back to the east shoreline & then into the interior trees.

Temps have been quite cool with daytime highs of 10°c/50f-15°c/60f & nighttime lows of real feel 3°/37°. 10 day looks about the same with Sunday Oct. 14th being the warmest at 14° & full sunshine. There are still sightings being reported NE of here so....here's hoping.
