I planted common milkweed, well 8 of them. I first noticed just 2 or 3 caterpillars. They grew and went away, then a couple weeks later I had 10 or 12 caterpillars, By the end of this Summer I had 38; that I could count, caterpillars. I watched one change to a pupa. I cant believe how excited I was. Now I am doing a presentation in college, about Monarchs. Now I know that I witnessed at least 3 generations develop in my back yard. So exciting !
