Lots of the monarchs that came in yesterday were in the dunes today feeding on goldenrod, even though the wind was quite steady coming from the SW. Some were smarter and flew inland to nectar in gardens. And others were semi-roosting during the day in bushes and trees along the dunes, in small groups. It was just amazing how they were hanging on in the wind.
