Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/13/2018

Number: 2

Two female hummingbirds flying around the same Live oak tree in the back yard. It is getting harder and harder to spot them, because there are fewer, but also because the summertime residents habitually rested in the same highly visible defensive positions guarding feeders and flowers. The migrating birds flit around more randomly, and as they are about the same size, shape, and color of Live oak leaves, and tend to prefer flowers over feeders, they are especially hard to spot. Fall migration season is nearing an end.
