At 5:00 p.m. this afternoon, I spotted one female Monarch Butterfly hanging onto the Butterfly Bush to nectar. At noon today, it was 62F degrees (felt like 60F) with wind from W @ 12mph. At 9:00 p.m. tonight, it is 54F degrees with wind from WNW @ 4mph. When I saw this female Monarch Butterfly, I think the wind had picked up to more than 12mph, so I took a video of her "hanging on" to nectar. We had a cold front move in on Friday, 12 October, so I have had my heat on from that day to present. I was surprised to see a Monarch Butterfly still here because of the daily temperatures. Is this unusual or normal for her to still be here?
