After we woke up to 3" of wet snow & 27 degree temps last Monday morning, I thought my Monarch tagging was done for the year. Now that the fall weather has moderated over the last couple of days, a few very hardy stragglers have shown up trying to make their way southwest before the next cold blast. I was able to tag 3 Monarchs making October 18th the latest I've ever tagged Monarchs during my 11 years of tagging (I've tagged 90 so far this year). I'll keep watching for them!
