Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/18/2018

Number: 1

Altus and I made a hurried trip across the Lavaca Bay Causeway at
5:30 today to see if anything had blown in. As I was watching a
lonesome queen on a sunflower, Altus spotted our first monarch of
the fall hanging out of the light wind on south side on a false
willow. This was on the road to the peninsula to the old causeway,
east side of state highway TX35 on the Point Comfort end.

Finally got above 65 today and was 72 went we headed out on our safari,
overcast and just a smattering of mist. Tomorrow we will flip over
to AC if it gets any warmer.
