Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 10/18/2018

Number: 1

Austin and central Texas has been cold and drizzly for a week and expected to be the same for the next week. Peak migration should have been several days ago, but nothing is flying. 10 day forecast has partly cloudy Sunday and again in a week on Friday 10/28. The rest is cloudy, low to mid 60’s, and light rain and showers. At the ground, wind is out of the north but overhead the wind is out of the southwest….It looks and feels like someone moved Austin to Seattle. We are never supposed to complain about too much rain in Texas for fear that we might be heard and someone shut the tap off, again. So I’m not complaining! But WhooWhee its a lot of rain.

If the spring 2018 was ideal in Texas fall is shaping up to be the worst! Maybe. For all the late bloomers up north, your brothers and sisters are waiting for you to join them so you all can make a grand entrance to Mexico together! I hope….

If the weather ever clears up there should be a flood of migrants. If it ever clears up.
