Tulips PLANTED
Sightings report image

Date: 10/18/2018

Number: 36

We planted 36 red emperor tulip bulbs on Thursday, 10/18, next to our school in Chicago. The weather was brisk and sunny, a perfect day for planting tulips. In addition to our 36 normally planted bulbs, we planted some injected with food dye, and some others were pre-treated with vinegar and baking soda. Our goal is to see if the injection or the pre-treatment will change anything. We will only report results here about our control group, which was planted normally.

We planted our tulips around four trees and next to our school, so we found lots of roots but we managed to plant around them. We are excited to see them bloom in the spring!
