Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/22/2018

Number: 1

My husband just saw one hummingbird but this Site refused to let me enter just one hummer as the # of birds which has been a constant problem. I have still been maintaining 2 feeder's just in case. Have not seen any for awhile. My husband just told me that at 4pm today when he took our dog outside that he saw a small hummingbird hovering over our large 2-year old Cigar plants (Cuphea x 'David Verity' maintained in large containers & over-wintered in a DIY Greenhouse). We did not get a picture but the yr. we had a late Juvi- Rufous coming thru in October he was smaller in size than our Rubies or Black-chinned hummers. Will continue to look. I really thought they were all gone but still seeing a few isolated reports in several neighboring cities. Plants that are still blooming in yard are Zinnia's, Mexican Sunflowers, Red & Pink Turk's Cap, Mexican Bush Sage called 'Midnight', Cuphea (4 plants), Cherry Chief(5 Large Plants in yard), 3 Large Hot Lips, 2 Blue/Purple Henry Duelburg,2- 3rd year Heatwave Blaze, 1-1st year Salvia x 'John Whittlesey' (which I have been really impressed with at taking the Texas Summer Sun & Heat), & 1 very large Amistad in a large container. Sunny today, High-Around 67, Low last night was 50. High tomorrow 70, with low of 52.
