Sightings report image

Date: 10/26/2018

Number: 1

1 (Lone) female Monarch has been eating from our Mexican Sunflowers but changed recently to the Front yard where she has been enjoying the Zinnia's pictured here at 3:18pm Central time in Denton, Tx. I I have been waiting for her to leave soon. She has been here for several weeks. After she was finished eating she floated across the street & then floated up higher & higher above the neighbor's tall mature Oak Trees. She must have caught a tailwind as she spread her wings like a Hawk or Eagle does & went higher & higher soaring ( without flapping her wings at all). She kept soaring until she looked like a tiny spot in the sky where she was unable to track. I have never seen a Monarch go so high. It was awesome to witness her do this. She looked so free & elegant as she soared in the sky much like watching a Ballerina do a slow wonderful, elegant 'Dance'. Again, Awesome to watch Nature like this! :-)
