Counted 111 monarchs at Grandview Prairie on Sunday, October 28. They were feeding very low in clusters of purple asters that were protected by tall grasses and goldenrod from a strong southwesterly wind. There are many clusters of these asters scattered over the prairie that we could not walk to in order to count any monarchs there.
