Yesterday, after a 28 degree night, a lone hummingbird showed up seeking pollen from dying turk's cap and honeysuckle blooms. 40 degrees last night. This same bird (small, but active and fat) showed up this morning, but we had added warm, concentrated 1:3 sugar water to her food supply. She's now practically living on the feeder! She needs to cover at least 100 miles south, and fast, to get to warmer, acceptable temperatures.
