Many robins are feasting in and under my crabapple tree today...hard to count because they are so active, but there are about 40, and I was able to count 7 starlings sticking with the flock. It's actually sunny (!) and about 28 degrees here, with a couple inches of snow. My tree is just loaded with crabapples this year and I have more pics of robins lined up on my brick walk eating fallen fruit and some of my non-closeup pics are like a "where's Waldo" looking for robins in the crabapple clusters since the colors are about the same! They come every year like this, sometimes I've had as many as 70! I wish they really were a first sign of Spring, but I know better from past experience!
