The polar vortex, with three days of temps ranging from -10 to -30 had just ended and I was back walking the trail in 25 degree weather. And lo, there was a flock of 12-14 robins congregating in an area with a spring and a little running, open water. I had seen robins on the trail in early December but figured they were lagging in their migration. Now I'm not so sure.
