It is with a sad heart that I have to report that my Ruby Throat hummingbird finally succumbed to the freezing temperatures Thursday night, Jan 31st. She had become like a pet to us. She made it Thursday morning when it was 14 degrees here in Snow Hill, but another night of below freezing temperatures proved to be too much for her. She was a tough little bird.
