Monarchs are overwintering here in Shell Point, unincorporated community, mailing address Crawfordville FL, on Gulf Coast. I have planted milkweed, some are blooming now, we took a terrible hit with Hurricane Michael, but some wildflowers are reseeding. Also saw a solitary loon in the canal two times about a month ago, in January. I am concerned that some milkweed with orange and yellow flowers may be that cultured type that transmits some sort of infection to monarchs.
