Robin (WAVE seen)
Sightings report image

Date: 02/06/2019

Number: 100

Pulled back the curtain covering my back patio door and was surprised to see a flock of birds scurrying across my back yard. Even more surprised when I realized the majority were robins along with some smaller black/ brownish birds. Most took flight landing on the limbs of a large Siberian elm in the middle of the yard while others flew into trees on neighbors’ properties. Was able to grab my iPad and get a picture of the few who perched atop my garage before flying off. One bird hopped into the roof gutter numerous times appearing to get a drink of water. I’m not sure what they might have been eating on the lawn but the previous week’s snow had melted after several days of high temps in the 50s revealing the brown lawn. As can be seen from the picture, it had just begun to snow with accumulation of 4.5 inches by the next morning.
