Just one lone robin. BUT I DID SEE ONE LONE HOUSE WREN SITTING ON MY HOUSE BUSHES TRILLING AWAY. Her song brought me to the window because I DIDN'T RECOGNIZE IT AS A WINTER SONG. I GRABBED MY BIRD BOOK AND VERIFIED HER, AND I WAS ONLY ABOUT TWO FEET AWAY. She jumped onto the porch table and I got a closer look. She was all brown, small body, long sharp beak, and cocked her tail in the typical wren position. I have ground seeds under the bushes for protection from the Hawk that feeds on my birds. She seems to have been feeding there. My Missouri bird book says she is only supposed to come during summer months. Its been freezing and lower here. Her feathers were puffed out for warmth. This is on the South side where the sun was pouring down onto and into these thick bushes next to the house. Could she have been blown off course?
