I’ve been seeing monarchs, about one a day, flying around my backyard and saw some up in Gainesville, FL, the weekend of Feb 15-16 when i visited my Aunt and her garden (Alachua FL 32615-2137).
We both have tropical milkweed (Asclepia currasavica) blooming, but the “native” milkweeds haven’t bloomed yet.
the butterflies are wild, the milkweed is growing in the ground outside, and i don’t always catch them to distinguish sex, unless i’m tagging in the summer for Monarch Watch.
