Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 02/26/2019

Number: 1

They are here!! 1st large, faded monarch of the spring season flew SW to NE across my garden today! Hope they find milkweed in South Texas Brush Country! Yes, it is early but we have been expecting early arrivals based on the activity at the Mexico overwintering sites. Go outside and work or sit for a few hours and you may spot one too.

I have not seen milkweed yet, but I am sure that there is milkweed in the South Texas Brush Country. It has been rainy and warm there. That's 150 miles south to the Rio Grande from here (whether you drive west or south). Room for plenty of milkweed!
