Got to brag about this: My first time ever seeing a Pileated Woodpecker. This morning at 7:30 (circa). Tree was not dead, but is an old old tall tree. Heard the 'call' first, which got me to notice it. Probably been coming around for a while, but never heard this call to take notice.
Didn't hear any tapping.
