Monarch Waystation #299 AKA the Virginia Living Museum Children's Learning Garden reports that Red Emperor Tulips were 1st seen emerged today. Photo here was taken 2-21-19. The first planting of Journey North Red Emperor Tulips established the Children's Learning Garden in the fall of 1998. Average [mean] of 1st emergence of 20 dates 1999-2018: = Feb 7, so the tulips were 8 days later than average based on the past 20 years of data.
