Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/05/2019

Number: 1

Second graders saw 1 adult monarch flying around on the soccer field.

We looked at the image you sent of the painted lady and the monarchs. Thank you for sending that to us. The students said that they know the butterfly that they saw was not a painted lady or a viceroy. They are certain the butterfly they saw was a monarch.

We looked at the map and it looks like when people saw painted ladies, they saw many at a time. The second graders only saw one butterfly.
