Saw a monarch two days ago looking as though it was trying to lay eggs on milkweed that had survived the winter. Just got around to looking for eggs today. Found three. Phone pic not good;trying to hold a milkweed stalk still in a stiff breeze and shoot at the same time. Still, you can see the characteristic ribs on the egg.
