Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/13/2019

Number: 20

Twenty monarch seen while driving home from work. Most seen on I-35 and backroads. The frequency at which we were seeing them was reminiscent of fall migration. There seem to be enough nectar sources around for them, but the milkweed hasn't emerged yet!

Yes I am 100% confident they are what I saw. I appreciate you reaching out to confirm. I had my coworker with me as well and I heard from someone else at work that she too was seeing many Monarchs flying on her way home as well. I will try and obtain pictures today. We were very surprised to see this many so soon here in this part of Texas but they were definitely Monarchs. Also we are biologists that have been working with Monarchs for the past two years on Fort Hood so you can trust our abilities.
