First of the Year was at noon. 14 total as I drove around central, east, north and west Austin till 6. Basically everywhere I went and stopped, I saw one or more. One in east Austin was close to the ground and appeared to be checking out, without landing, a variety of weeds. Two in West Austin appeared to be attempting to nectar on Bradford Pear Tree, but they never appeared to settle down for a long drink.
