Washing some dishes and looking out the window at the feeders. Lamenting the European Starlings setting up in the barn that borders our property when I saw the distinctive bobbing across the yard. Light rain, 10C, light winds. Forecast for unseasonably warm today but freezing temperatures returning by weekend. Ground is thawing near the surface in cultivated areas but turf still frozen. We attempted but failed to dig in our pet graveyard. Today's weather should help but no earthworms sighted yet. Hope they find some sustenance. They did not stay long.
