Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/13/2019

Number: 5

Beautiful sunny day with breezes from the south with lots of sunshine. We saw 5 Monarchs today all within about 90 minutes (3 - ¼ mile down the road at a field, 1 - at our house, 1 - at the entrance to our subdivision). I was able to take a picture of the one that was patrolling the wet weather creek at our house. A male that stopped to sun himself frequently and looked to be both tattered and faded. The native asperula is still emerging and is hard to see among the other vegetation. That should change over the next several days. It’s growing quickly.
