This is a radar image I took a screen shot of on March 14th. I'm experimenting with the radar images to see if I can see where the bird activity is. It can also pick up insects. All the blue around the radar sights is possibly indicative of where all the bird migrations are occurring. The round, blue speckled echoes around the radar sights, indeed wax at sunset and wane the next morning. What I noticed was intense activity around Southern Georgia and Jacksonville Florida. I also saw deep blue echoes around the Delmarva peninsula, Potomac, and Chesapeake Bay area. Something was occurring in North Carolina. At sunset, on the 13th, a massive radar ring erupted around Raleigh. It persisted into the morning of the 14th. It appeared to be drifting toward the NE. Cincinnati was constantly active. The previous night, Paducah was active. Behind the obvious storm front was more activity in the Midwest. The proof that it's possible to see the birds on weather radar is on many sights such as this one.
