Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 03/20/2019

Number: 1

True song this morning at 6.27 am. Still mostly calls and warnings, but a true round of song and counter-singing before sunrise. This is actually the third day of this, but wanted to confirm it. Also, there were a few singing in midday. Not too many, but some. Territories seem to be close to settled in my neighborhood. A male was parked in my backyard maple several times the last two days, and was standing tall at the birdbath this morning. As I pulled into the drive later, he stood sentry and only gave way with great noise and bluster, to monitor my movements from the top of one of my pines. Still flocking in undefined borders in the road and where lots of worms are to be had, but it's solidifying.

Editor's note: We have moved this report to Robin (OTHER Observations)since the robin was "tuning up" as hormone level rise rather than proclaiming territory which is meant to drive off other robins and a prelude to nesting.
