Not far north of Dallas, I just checked the bases of all my outdoor milkweeds. The only things showing any sign of life are a couple potted Asclepias linearis plants. The viridis, asperula, engelmanniana, tuberosa, texana, and verticillata have not sprouted yet. Wildflowers here are just getting started, really, with woodland trees and some things like Golden Groundsel blooming, but we are not seeing anything like what folks further south in Texas have been posting lately in terms of nectar plants. Plums and Redbuds are ready now.
