A Rufous hummingbird made a rare appearance at our feeder this morning! We often see them on their return trip south in the fall, but have never seen one on his trip north. We did have a rare Allen's hummingbird in Jan. 2013, but there is no way we can determine if this might be an Allen's without seeing the tail feathers.
