Gray Whale Sighted

Date: 03/25/2019

Number: 9

North Puget Sound Gray whales are here in abundance! This week we welcome two more arrivals, 44 Dubknuck and 22 Earhart who showed up just days apart.

That brings the number of returning NPS grays to 9 in 2019: 22, 44, 49, 53, 56, 185, 383, 531, 2246 . The most frequented feeding hotspot seems to remain around the Snohomish Delta, but others are dispersing in known areas up and down Saratoga Passage, Penn Cove, Oak Harbor, Possession Point, Tulalip Bay, Port Susan, Skagit Bay. We are glad to see so many of these beloved grays back feeding when in other places the news is not so good for the grays up and down the coasts.
