While watering in our backyard I saw a female Monarch flying in the yard. She landed on 6 perennial milkweed that had just been emerging & showing leaves in the last week...She didn’t miss any of the milkweed & laid eggs on 3 of them...she kept landing repeatedly on the milkweed & one oriental lily showing quite a few leaves ....she stayed 20 minutes or so...flew off while I was trying to get pictures.... earliest that I have seen one...we do host Monarchs growing a good amount of milkweed in the summer.
