50 is my low ball estimate from a limited hike. Photo is of one plant with 5 eggs. One of the eggs was placed on a grass stem growing through the tangle of milkweed leaves and stems. A. asperula has flown from ground last few days. Thousands. Some already nearing 2 foot diameter. Eggs frequently visible on top surfaces.
