Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)
Sightings report image

Date: 04/12/2019

Number: 10

The number is a guess. Males are everywhere on numerous feeders and native honeysuckles. Females have just started arriving.

I rarely see them sharing. Rubythroats are too territorial and drive each other away. That’s why I have 8 feeders all over my yard plus plants like coral honeysuckle and scarlet salvia. Some of my neighbors also have feeders so it’s quite a hummingbird station here.
