Ice-Out

Date: 04/08/2019

Number: 1

This report form the Mankato Free Press :"Mary Buschkowsky, who has monitored Madison Lake since 1977, also reported ice-free conditions on April 8.

The earliest ice-out recorded on the lake was March 8, 2000.

She said the melt wasn't like most, where the ice pulls away from shores and then breaks into large sheets before disappearing.

"This was the weirdest ice-out we've had for a long time. It was like ice cube chunks instead of sheets of ice."
