We have quite a bit of milkweed growing at our house and had monarch butterflies and caterpillars all winter long. At the peak, we counted 60 caterpillars in one day.

These days we only see a few caterpillars, but are usually watching 8 or 9 chrysalises and usually have 3 or 4 hatch a week that we know about. We see the butterflies daily till they move on. We've probably had 40 monarchs hatch that we kbow about since November.
