Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/22/2019

Number: 1

First spotting of spring 2019! Saw one female laying eggs on stems of tiny milkweed. Underside of leaves were dirty from recent rain splash-up so perhaps that's why she chose the stems on which to deposit her eggs. I counted 24 eggs, but there could have been more. The monarch's wings were in good shape, but colors were very washed out.
