At daybreak, the feeder was visited only by 4 female and 2 male calliopes, all drinking together in peace. At about 9 am, what appears to be a juvenile male rufous arrived, claimed ownership, and has spent the day (4 pm) never leaving his guard down (2 pictures uploaded) to chase away every other bird. I've consulted several hummingbird sources about his species, as I'm not certain it's rufous (could be a juvenile male broad-tail?): one triangular bright red gorget against tan-white throat feathers, mostly green back with some rufous-red feathers along the sides, wider through the breast than calliope females. And very aggressive - I don't think any calliope has had more than a couple of seconds at the feeder since this one arrived. If anyone can interpret the species from my (less than optimal pics shot through glass, so fuzzy), I would appreciate it, with thanks!
